Sweet memories cling to (his)(her) name,

A link in our family chain is broken,
She has gone from our home but not from our hearts.

Don’t seem much, but mean a lot.
Just a memory, fond and true,
To show, Dear Father, we think of you.

A loving mother, so gentle and kind,
What a wonderful memory she left behind.
Long days, long nights, she bore her pain.
To wait for cure, but all in vain.
Till God Himself knew what was best:
He took her home and gave her rest.

God saw the road was getting rough
And the hills were hard to climb,
So He closed your weary eyelids
And whispered “Peace be thine”.

Pleasant in manner, patient in pain,
Our loss is his eternal gain,
His cheery ways and smiling face,
Are a pleasure to recall;
He had a kindly word for each;
And died beloved by all.

How on earth could we forget you
So full of love and life;
Today it's been a year gone now
All those days of strife.
My heart is torn in two
Every time I hear your name;
All it does remind me of
Is that it will never be the same.
You are the light of my life
And that will always be;
As you were so wonderful
You were everything to me.

And a heart that was purer than gold,
And to those who knew him and loved him
His memory will never grow cold.

As in the hour he passed away.

Riding through the fields;
In summer, winter any old time
Memories my love will shield.
The energy and spirit full of fun
You epitomised good living;
Appreciating every moment
You were always so forgiving.
Every second of everyday
You played and prayed quite hard;
You didn't know what was yet to come
You beat all of us by a yard.
So when it's our turn
As none of us know when;
We hope that we won't let you down
And we'll be back in your arms again.
